Delia Viader is the founder of Viader Vineyards and Winery in Napa Valley, California. She was the first winemaker to implement a European hillside planting design, that optimizes sun exposure and natural drainage in this region, and ultimately produce exceptional quality fruit.
Born in Argentina, Delia came to the U.S. as a post-graduate student to pursue her interest in Old World style wines such as those produced by Chateau Cheval Blanc in St. Emilion, France. These wines inspired her first 1989 Viader blend from cabernet franc and sauvignon varietals.
